These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Mechd mobile application and website at mechd.co.uk (together, "the Service"), operated by Mechd Ltd ("Mechd", "we", "us", or "our"), a private limited company registered in England and Wales (company number 17259958).
By creating an account or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Service.
Mechd is an AI-powered vehicle sound analysis tool. The Service analyses audio frequency data processed on your device and combines it with symptom information you provide to generate diagnostic suggestions about possible mechanical causes.
Mechd does not provide professional mechanical advice or inspections. All results are AI-generated suggestions only and do not constitute a professional mechanical opinion, safety assessment, or confirmation of any vehicle fault. Always consult a qualified mechanic before acting on any result. Mechd does not assess whether a vehicle is safe or roadworthy.
To access the full Service you must register for an account using a valid email address and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at info@mechd.co.uk if you suspect unauthorised access.
Standard accounts may save up to 2 vehicles. Pro subscribers have unlimited saved vehicles.
You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Deletion permanently removes your account, vehicles, and diagnosis history within 30 days. Deletion does not entitle you to a refund of unused credits or remaining subscription period.
Adds 1 credit to your account. One credit provides one full diagnostic result including primary cause, confidence score, severity rating, estimated repair cost, and alternative causes.
Adds 3 credits to your account. Each credit provides one full diagnostic result as described above.
Provides unlimited full diagnostic results and unlimited saved vehicles. Billed monthly in advance via Stripe. Cancellable at any time with access continuing until the end of the current billing period.
A credit is deducted when the Analyse button is tapped. Credits are non-refundable once consumed. The only automatic exception is where no audio signal is detected before the diagnostic process initiates — in this case the credit is automatically returned. A credit may also be restored at our discretion where a technical failure on our side prevents a result from being delivered. See our Refund Policy for full details.
Credits do not expire. They remain on your account until used or until your account is deleted.
You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time through the app settings or by contacting us at info@mechd.co.uk. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refund is provided for the remaining portion of the current billing period on standard cancellation.
Pro subscriptions renew automatically each month unless cancelled before the renewal date. We will notify you of any price changes with at least 30 days notice.
If a subscription payment fails, access to Pro features will be suspended until payment is successfully processed.

Payments are processed by Stripe (web purchases), Apple In-App Purchase via RevenueCat (iOS purchases), or Google Play Billing via RevenueCat (Android purchases). Mechd does not store, access, or retain your payment card details. By making a payment you agree to the terms of the relevant payment processor. All prices are displayed in GBP for UK users. Currency detection is built into the Service for non-UK users.
You agree not to attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, reverse engineer or decompile the Service, use automated tools or bots, resell or commercially exploit the Service without written consent, provide false information, or use the Service for any fraudulent or unlawful purpose. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account without notice for any violation.
All content, software, design, trademarks, and technology within the Service are the property of Mechd Ltd or its licensors. Your use of the Service does not grant you any ownership beyond the limited right to use the Service in accordance with these Terms.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mechd Ltd excludes all liability for any loss, damage, injury, cost, or expense arising from your use of the Service or reliance on any diagnostic result. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the total amount paid by you to Mechd in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under English law.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mechd Ltd, its directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising from your use of the Service, your breach of these Terms, or any decision made in reliance on a diagnostic result.
The Service integrates with Stripe, Supabase, Anthropic, Netlify, Google Places, Apple In-App Purchase, Google Play Billing, RevenueCat, and AppsFlyer. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. The Garages feature displays third party mechanics. Mechd does not endorse or take responsibility for any third party business displayed within the Service.
Our collection and use of your personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy. Mechd Ltd is registered with the ICO (reference C1953272).
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time with reasonable notice if you breach these Terms or for any other legitimate reason.
We may modify or discontinue the Service at any time with reasonable notice. Updated Terms will be published at mechd.co.uk/terms and you will be notified before material changes take effect. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you have a complaint, contact us first at info@mechd.co.uk.
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Mechd Ltd in relation to the Service.
